About us

Life at Papa Spyros Olive Oil

Our Story

The inspiration and name for our company “Papa Spyros Olive Oil” came from our grandfather, Spyros Giannopoulos, who was born in a small Greek village named Makrisia, located in the western region of Peloponnesus. Our olive grove has been in the Giannopoulos family for generations and today we grow and harvest about 500 hundred Koroneiki olive trees, ranging in age from 10 to 300 years old on about 20 acres of land. Every year in November we go to Greece and we pick, press, and send our extra virgin olive oil over here so you know that it is 100% real and fresh extra virgin olive oil. Our luxuriant aromatic extra virgin olive oil is first cold pressed and has delicate flavor that begins with notes of citrus and green leaves and extends to a surprisingly pleasing burst of mild black pepper. Our extra virgin olive oil has been tested to have 0.3% acidity which it is considered to be the highest quality of extra virgin olive oil. Papa Spyros' dream and vision was for everyone to be able to taste his amazing extra virgin olive oil. We are in the process of pursuing organic certification.

Meet the people behind your food

Anna and Peter Giannopoulos started Papa Spyros Olive Oil in 2017 with the mindset to introduce people to what real extra virgin olive oil is supposed to taste like. Peter is also a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and loves to put together amazing food using Papa Spyros Olive Oil.
